COMPETENT APPROACH AS A THEORETICAL BASIS OF STUDING PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE FORMATION OF FUTURE SOCIAL WORKERS

Abstract

This article discusses the problem of development of future social workers professional competence
through the prism of a competent approach, which is based on the idea of international recognition
of the results of education, which is practically embodied in the form of international reforms. The essence
of the investigated phenomenon is revealed due to certain contradictions: between constantly increasing
requirements of society to the level of professional competence of social educators and the real level of their
professional preparedness; between spheres of professional activity of social pedagogues and a definite
direction of their professional education; between the need of society in raising the prestige of subjects
of social and pedagogical activity and their lack of professional competence; between constant expansion
of spheres, functions, introduction of innovative technologies of professional social and pedagogical
activity and traditionally reproductive character of functioning of the system of professional training
of specialists, between real possibilities of educational institutions and new educational needs of subjects
of educational process, consumers of educational services. The peculiarities of social and pedagogical
activity of future social workers are analysed, which consists in regulating the legal, economic relations
between man and society, providing comprehensive assistance and support to every citizen. The necessity
of changing traditional reproductive learning on creative and effective, which should contribute not only
to the acquisition of knowledge, skills, but also to the personal development of student youth, the formation
of a system of socio-cultural needs, self-actualization and self-fulfillment of the individual is emphasised.
The positive and negative aspects of the traditional training of future social workers in the context
of the problem under investigation are identified. The main requirements for the competencies of the society
for future social workers are described. It is presented the scientific and theoretical bases of innovation
of the educational environment for renewed activity of future social workers, which is in the use of specific
activity and personality oriented approach in opposition to the knowledge-oriented approach, as conditions
for improving the quality of training specialists and modernization of higher education.
