DEVELOPMENT OF CONSCIOUS READING SKILLS AMONG PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE PROCESS OF USING INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

In the article the author determines the priority tasks of modern education: development of child as a unique
personality, realization of creative potential, development of critical thinking, desire for independent
cognitive activity. It is substantiated the importance of using interactive teaching technologies at primary
school educational process. It is summarized opinions of the didactics researchers that the didactic games,
along with other innovative methods, are effective means of awakening a vivid interest in literary reading,
development of habit of conscious reading among students.
Numerous studies of scientists prove that reading is an important component in the comprehensive
development of a growing personality. Reading skills combines two groups of abilities: abilities that relate
to the reproduction of the sound form of the word, and skills based on the identification and awareness
of semantic information (understanding, expressiveness of reading).
Such researches as V. Sukhomlynskyi, O. Sukhomlynska, O. Savchenko, N. Skrypchenko, V. Edigie, V. Zaitsev,
I. Palchenko, I. Fedorenko took care of the issues of development of conscious reading skills.
Mastering the skills of conscious reading requires a younger student to have a high level of development
of mental operations of analysis and synthesis. Awareness of the text requires complex thought work, which
results in the main idea of the text. This process is not initially easy for a child, since in each text the reflection
of reality is indirectly attributed to the author’s understanding. It is necessary to teach the child to understand
every thought in the text, to take from the text the content that the author put in his writing, to feel what
another person felt.
Effective means of awakening a living interest in literary reading, development of students’ conscious
reading skills, along with other innovative methods, are didactic games. It is proved that the game attract
children’s attention to educational process, to solution of educational task. It encourages students to perform
a greater number of different tasks, contributes to a more conscious, thorough learning, skills and abilities.
The use of games at the lesson of literary reading helps to diversify the work of students, to relieve stress
from ordinary educational activities, to attract students’ attention.
